Chuck Cliburn - Business Development Consultant/Lobbyist
Chuck Cliburn is the founder and president of New Capitol IT, LLC, a governmental business development and lobbying firm located in Tallahassee, Florida. The firm specializes in the information technology industry helping clients develop and execute effective sales strategies, effective teaming alliances and high-level client relationships that are designed to grow business with Florida government. Founded in 2012, New Capitol has become one of Florida’s leading governmental IT consulting firms serving an impressive list of forward-thinking firms and
organizations.
Chuck is a long-time Tallahassee resident and business leader. For over two decades, he has worked closely with Florida leaders, industry, and stakeholder organizations to advocate for better policy, practices and technology-based approaches to business problems in order to achieve more efficient and cost-effective government operations. As an IT industry business executive, Chuck led his teams to over one billion dollars of contracts with the State of Florida prior to founding New Capitol IT. He is a trusted advisor to some of Florida’s most well-known and respected business and service organizations. Chuck served on the Florida TaxWatch Cost Savings Task Force for 3 years and served as chairman of the IT Legislative Affairs Committee for Associated Industries of Florida (AIF). He has served on numerous boards including the Challenger Learning Center, Florida TaxWatch, the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Florida. He is an active member of the Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Tallahassee.
Chuck’s opinions on IT issues and governance in Florida have appeared in the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida Trend, Florida Today and CONTEXTFLORIDA. He has been a featured guest on Florida Public Radio.
Chuck began his career in Phoenix, Arizona with Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys). He held sales and management positions across the country including positions in Las Vegas, Miami, Philadelphia, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. However, for most of his career he has lived and worked in Tallahassee. Immediately prior to founding New Capitol IT, he served as Senior Vice President and Florida Client Executive for Xerox Services (previously ACS).
Chuck received his BS degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and his MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. He resides in Tallahassee with his wife Madelin. Chuck and Madelin have two grown children, Brian and Jamie, and one awesome granddaughter, Karis.
