Chuck Cliburn is the founder and president of New Capitol IT, a governmental business development consulting and lobbying firm located in Tallahassee, Florida. The firm specializes in helping companies in the information technology and business processing industries do business with Florida government.
Chuck is a long-time Tallahassee resident and business leader. For over two decades he has worked closely with Florida leaders, industry, and stakeholder organizations to identify, promote and implement innovative technology-based solutions that enable more efficient and cost-effective government operations. He is a trusted advisor to some of Florida’s most well-known and respected business and service organizations. He has been a member of the Florida TaxWatch Government Cost Savings Task Force for the past 3 years and is chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee for the Associated Industries of Florida IT Council. He also serves on the boards of Florida TaxWatch, the Challenger Learning Center and the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce.
After completing his MBA, Chuck began his career in Phoenix, Arizona with Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys) and has spent his entire career in the IT industry. In the early years, he held sales and management positions with Unisys across the country including positions in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Miami, Philadelphia, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. However, for most of his career, he has lived and worked in Tallahassee.
He joined ACS (now Xerox) as Vice President of Sales for Florida Government in 2005 and was later named as Senior Vice President and State Client Executive for Florida. He left Xerox in late 2012 and founded New Capitol IT.
Chuck received his BS degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and his MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. He resides in Tallahassee with his wife Madelin. They have two grown children, Brian and Jamie, and one granddaughter, Karis.
